The Baby Sprinkle of My Dreams!
With the anticipation of our new baby’s arrival, I wanted to celebrate WITH PEOPLE! Since we had the twins during the pandemic, we were not able to have a celebration in person. My family even tried to do a drive-by shower, but the stay at home order was issued the day prior to the shower date so they cancelled it!!
I think that all babies should be celebrated and even though a shower can be a little taboo for second or third babies, I believe that its important to surround yourself with people you love and celebrate this new life and miracle!
So I decided that I would have a baby sprinkle and finally be able to celebrate our growing family with our closest friends and family. With this decision, I knew that I would LOVE to have Starleana from @partybystar to help bring all of my baby sprinkle dreams to life. Star is an amazing party planner who not only has incredible ideas, but who takes care of every single little detail and makes sure that the day is absolutely perfect.
We started by brainstorming themes and I really wanted to honour all 3 of my kids in this sprinkle, since I didn’t really get to celebrate the twins with others. Star came up with the most wonderful theme to celebrate all 3 of them and we went with “The Three Little Bears!”
It was SO adorable. We could go with a neutral colour scheme, which is what I really wanted and all of the cutest teddy bear decor!!!
For our photo backdrop, Star made all of the boards and used vinyl cut outs for the most beautiful and meaningful quotes!!! She also used beautiful pampas grass and constructed the balloons which we purchased from Amazon!! She did the most incredible job!
She also had the sweetest idea to put a kids table with books and stuffed animals and a little tent for them to hangout in! It was SO adorable and nice for the twins to enjoy! The whole aesthetic was so perfect.
What to wear?! Its so tough to find maternity wear, especially something flattering but also comfy and my secret is to shop “bump friendly” outfits from non-maternity stores!!! This dress is from @PetalandPup and I just sized up! It fit the bump perfectly and was so comfortable.
We decided to host the event at our house and in the backyard and with tent rentals being outrageous, I actually purchased a tent last year from Walmart and my mom and husband assembled it the day before! It was perfect to give us some shade. We then rented the tables and chairs and clothes from a local company.
No shower is complete without games! So we made sure to have some fun games that were printed and designed to be on theme with our three little bears themes! These games and designs were purchased through Etsy and edited to our liking.
The games included:
How many Gummy Bears in the jar
Measure the bump (which is hilarious!)
Don’t say baby (give everyone a clothes pin and if you hear someone say baby, you take their clothespin, then the person with the most clothespins at the end wins!)
Guess How Old (My mom and sister picked baby and child photos of me and Star created a beautiful board to hang them on and then people guessed the age of each me in each photo; its also fun if you can get photos of your spouse as well as a child!)
Labour or Lust (This one was a funny one that you can find online and print the photos where people guess if the woman is in labour or looooove)
Mommy or Daddy (questions about which one of us is more likely to…… This came in the etsy package and was a fun one for people to guess!)
Over or Under (questions about numbers of things, example, the due date is in 31 days.. Then people could guess if its over or under that amount)
We also had a “Bear Bar” wall that Star created and we put all of the teddy bears on the wall so people could take one as their party favour.
Food is an important piece of a party for me! We had @foodiesanonymous cater the event and did canapes as well as an epic charcuterie board! (You all know how much I love a good coochie board!)
A dessert table is a staple for me at a party, especially a shower, so we went all out with our dessert table! It was complete with a tower of honey crullers (my fave donuts!) from @timhortons, cookies that were ADORABLE and SO on theme from @kelsosbakeshop, and cupcakes from @sweettemptations
The party supplies were absolutely PERFECT for our theme. They really tied everything together. They’re from @simplysoireeinc, who I have ordered from before for the twins first birthday and they were the greatest quality and SO beautiful! We had so many compliments on them!!!
This day was so absolutely perfect! It was so nice to celebrate with friends, enjoy time together, and focus on the new baby to come!
It was important to me to have these moments captured so that I could look back on them and have these memories forever! We had the incredible Devi from D3viphotography as well as Evangelyn Tavares from Teacup and Saucer photography and it was so nice to be able to enjoy the day without my phone in hand and know that I would have beautiful photos of the moments that took place that day!
If you’re thinking of having a Baby Sprinkle, DO IT! You will not ever regret spending time with your friends and family, celebrating a miracle that you’re bringing into the world.
